This app is consistently working in the background draining my iPhone battery....any thoughts??  I have signed out of the app, turned off background refresh and it still takes the battery.  Had to delete the app to stop it.

Thanks, that's a good thing to be aware of.  Checked my Android phone and Fotos was also using a bit of battery, but worse than that it also kept a record of the "mobile data usage" which was several GB.  I had the phone run its optimization app for power consumption which shut off the mobile data and reduced the battery consumption to practically nil.  Maybe I should update the Fotos app and check again.

Have you tried going to iOS setting, slide finger down to show search box, type in background. It prompts background app refresh. Then choose Leica off to off?

Depending on your settings, the app gets the phones gps position and sends it to the camera for putting the location to the picture. (If you change to eco, i believe this won’t happen automatically anymore but i am not sure.)

I think while there is significant more battery usage, it is okay for the added functionality. it can drain the phone on a long photo taking session, so if you don’t need gps then stop it, when traveling you might be happy for the location info in the picture

That was definitely the issue...without geotagging  on, there is virtually no drain  on the battery.  Yet, you can turn it on when needed.   FOTOS doesn't even show up on the list of apps effecting the battery.  Many thanks, Filzer!!
