Do you have some scratches on the bottom of the camera when you use Q3's original half case?

Yes, it is not made of plastic but of coated metal, so it can be abraded by for instance rough leather. Don't worry most Leica owners see a bit -or even a lot- of silvering or brassing as a badge of honour.

I would contact B&H as they do have a customer service that should be able to solve problems like these.

I notice that there is a lot of sand? inside the case which does not help either.

I have a habit to protect the camera bottom with tape, forever, even with bottom plate or protection case.

No sand in the case, just a result of taking a flash photo with the iPhone, all the dust pops out. 🙂

And I appreciate the idea of protecting the camera bottom with tape.

It’s disgraceful that Leica can produce such a POS product, there’s no excuse for that.

Better to say sell. It looks like a poor choice of supplier and maybe somebody in Wetzlar should open one or two boxes before they get sent on to the dealers.
