Is there a black paint Leica M9-P for sale anywhere on the planet??

If you're buying it for its aesthetics, then a dry cabinet is the best place for it - otherwise any other M9 with a new sensor would do, wouldn't it?:)

Good point haha. Though if you’re buying it just for aesthetics, you’ll never notice the sensor corrosion anyway!

I just sold one via the FB classifieds. It was listed for weeks without much interest.

Yeah I’ve really only been casually looking for the last couple weeks, but started seriously looking about a week and a half ago. Was trying to make up my mind on a M9-P plus lens or M10-P.

Best of luck with your decision making, many have asked themselves a similar question!

When one wants something long out of production, in a particular colour, in a particular spec, as a complete set then finding one within 2 weeks would be very good luck.

Give or take one's personal colour preference (and black paint Leica things seem very popular) I suspect you're looking for the most desirable one too.

Hang in there or widen your search criteria.

I suspect the other challenge you might face is that in late 2023 anyone that has (what is arguably) the best M9, in the best colour, with a good sensor and all the original parts and packaging probably has it because they wish to keep it, it'll either be owned from new, sensor fixed by Leica and cherished or diligently sought out as some sort of camera grail and cherished

I've got a black M9-P, looks new, replaced sensor, CLA in July, 2017.  Leathertte also replaced then accounting for its fine condition.  I just shoot mostly b&W with a Monochrom or an IFR camera, so it's time to move this on.  I can send photos in a day or so if you're interested.  Not many of these around.

Sold, to me, thanks for the link @M9reno. 👍

Sorry @Sunyforreal but one of my M9s started acting really weird this Wednesday while out shooting (it was struggling to re-cock the shutter souned like a motordrive) it was cold out around 3 degrees and once back home it worked fine but I can't risk it failing without backup.

You’re going to end up owning all M9s🤪 Except for mine… mouhahahahahahahaha!

Ah yes but I'll still only have a set of 3 because my most used one has started to malfunction, basically htis Wednesday whilst out shooting in the cold weather it was really struggling to re-cock the shutter making a weird motordrive sound and to stop it I had to remove the battery. Although once back in the house at room temperature it worked fine I can't trust it out in the cold so when @M9reno posted that link I thought it was fate so jumped on it. I can now look into the possibility of a service/repair of my old one whilst still having my 3 body set up.

Of course I will have to re-shoot this.

Glad to be of service, @Topsy.  Out of curiosity, is your problematic M9 the same one that suffered the mishap on the top-plate some months ago?

No, the problematic one is the one on the left of these 3 the one I dropped the tripod on is working fine that is the one on the right (you can just make out the dent in the top plate lower right just beside the lens FL indicator (75)). BTW as the problematic one was working normally once back at home I tried to replicate the fault by leaving it in the cold (of a drinks cooler) like it was in on Wednesday and after 1 hour it was still fine but after a second hour it repeated the recocking issue so it is defiitely not well and doesn't like the cold.

Ahh it’s fine, enjoy it! I ended up moving on to something else. I may get a M9 one day in the future, but for now it’s not in the cards.

Just for info, the camera arrived today and all seems well, they included the paperwork from Leica Wetzlar certifying the replacement sensor so no issues there. The only thing is it looks like brand new (unlike my other 3 M9s) I shall be afraid to use it in case I ding it. 😉

I'll have to update my photo (Post 15).

Not an update more of an ad-hoc shot of my M collection (now including the M9-P) taken on the D-Lux Typ109. I thought B&W would suit the theme.
