Jay Greenaway Posted October 13, 2023 Share #1 Â Posted October 13, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have acquired a near-mint R5 which has been cla'd and is a real shooter's keeper, but I'm bewildered by the front plate. The serial number is also odd - it lists as an R6 under the Leitz s/n site, although that does say some numbers were used for other models (!). The front plate is the oddity: it has the Leica roundal on the left-hand face - in silver, not red. R5 is engraved on the right of the front housing. Anyone any ideas?
