Hi All,

I have a televit (14136), a (SKGrimes' reproduction of) 14138, and a Telyt 280/4.8 III (2757xxx).

I cannot make the combo focus at infinity.

On one hand, the most forward of the two threads on the "rail" of the televit hits the front knob that one can use to pre-set focus distances (there are two such knobs on the left side of the televit, to be clear). On the other hand, looking at how the televit works, the above seems to be by design.

Thus, I'm wondering whether the issue is in my 14138: I can attach it on the televit only with the threaded part facing "forward" i.e., away from the back of the televit, but I'm wondering whether instead it should be attached so that the threaded part is "inside" the "barrel" of the televit. If so, I guess I'll have to file the "hook" for the televit 12'o clock pin a bit.

Could anyone share some light on how the 14138 should attach to the televit?

Thanks,

Matteo

I have never had any issue with my 280 III on the Televit : there is, afaik, just one way to mount it :

- Take off from the focusing unit the lenshead of the Telyt 280

- Screw onto it the 14138 ring (face of the rings towards the front of the lens... this I think is clear, looking at how 14138 is shaped)

- Mount the lenshead+14138 onto the Televit, using the front collar of the Televit and positioning the set with the three radial pins)

- And it's done... of course the Televit needs a Visoflex II/III to be mounted and focused onto a M camera (on my M240, I use the LEM/VIS Novoflex tube)

In case something isn't clear, can post some quick pics of the sequence , on my set

Ciao Luigi,

Thank you for your reply. Could you please just post a picture showing the lenshead, the 14138, and the televit, all unscrewed from each other and in an horizontal line, as in an "exploded-view drawing", so I can make sure I'm orienting my 14138 in the right way? Thanks you!

(If possible, the 14138 should be shown "standing up" as if it would look just before screwing it into the lens head)

Fantastic, thank you, Luigi!

These pictures clarify everything: my SKGrimes' reproduction of the 14138 is slightly different than the original (I had never seen an original 14138 before, but now I also looked at online pictures of it from ebay), and the reproduction can be screwed on to the lens head both ways, but clearly only one of them is the correct way, which would ensure that the lenshead goes into the barrel of the leicavit enough to ensure focus at infinity.

Thanks again!
