I havent used my Leica CM in quite a while and I actually was thinking to sell it. I took it out from storage today when I noticed the battery door was stuck. I managed to open it with a screw - pull a battery in and making sure the camera still working (it does! 🤩). Anybody can advice where I could get this repaired for cheap? Since it's not electronic/complex I'm assuming anyone with a bit of knowledge in analog camera could fix this (i bet is some dirt or particles in the rotating screw)....or does it comes with a 'premium' always when it's Leica? 🫠

Obviously thinking about Aperture UK although I'm not too familiar with their prices..

Thank you. Leica Mayfair hasn't been able to do anything with it - their response is "we don't have parts therefore it cannot be repaired" whilst I have the feeling it could be simply fixed instead of replaced but obviously it's not their ethos!

I will check if Aperture or Luton can do something with it.... Thanks!

Good luck! Please let us know how you get on.

I had a few bits of Olympus OM system stuff repaired by Luton (they were official Oly service agents back then) and always had excellent service.

I went to Aperture today - unfortunately no luck! They quickly understood some dirt ended up in the mechanism of the door, unfortunately they said you can't really fix that (mix of plastic and metal). What a shame since the camera works perfectly!

Unfortunately it didn't do much. What I believe it happened is the sticker inside the battery compartment got loose and I think some of the particles entered the mechanism of closure.
I'm so gutted.
The mechanism is now quite lose so you can open the compartment with the fingers but I have to hold the battery door tight in order to make the camera works.
