rmhoehne Posted October 5, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an LHSA MP-3 camera body only that I bought new in 2005. I’m trying to get a valuation or appraisal for insurance purposes. Im struggling to find someone to value this camera. Any suggestions?
Advertisement Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Hi rmhoehne, Take a look here LHSA MP-3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted October 5, 2023 Share #2 Posted October 5, 2023 The Forum does not do valuations. Visit any Leica dealer or LeicaStore.
rmhoehne Posted October 5, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted October 5, 2023 Thanks for the suggestion, there’s no Leica dealer within 1,000miles of me, unfortunately (I’m in rural Oregon USA).
jaapv Posted October 5, 2023 Share #4 Posted October 5, 2023 PRO PHOTO SUPPLY 1112 N.W. 19TH AVE97209 PORTLAND A two hours drive from Eugene, I believe?
thrid Posted October 6, 2023 Share #5 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) You could try contacting a dealer like Tamarkin in New York. It's a known model, so emailing a few pictures etc should be fine for a valuation Edited October 6, 2023 by thrid
madNbad Posted October 6, 2023 Share #6 Posted October 6, 2023 I love Pro Photo Supply! I have been going there for years but they are a limited Leica dealer and may be able to give you a guess. Contact Tamarkin in Chicago. They regularly deal with rare and collectible cameras. If anyone can answer your question, they would be the best choice. Welcome to the forum! williamj Posted October 6, 2023 Share #7 Posted October 6, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tamarkin is in Chicago but I agree contact them, they also do auctions of rare and valuable items and they are gearing up for this year’s auction. I’m not affiliated just so you know.
logan2z Posted October 6, 2023 Share #8 Posted October 6, 2023 You might also want to check with Setadel Studios. They seem to have a handful of these sets for sale right now. No affiliation with them but Google/eBay searches turned them up.

Leica Bellevue in the Seattle area could probably do it for you. Give them a call--for a ball park figure you shouldn't have to bring it in to them. If you do need to see them in person, the 500 or so miles from the farthest reaches of Oregon may be worth the trip.
