cerber0s Posted September 25, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have any experience with this lens? I’m trying to find something that’s a bit more contrasty, and a lot less prone to lens flares than my 1958 Elmar 50mm f2.8.

ranilla Posted September 26, 2023 Share #4 Posted September 26, 2023 I've only had version 2 for a month. It's my first 50mm. I'm very satisfied. Has become my favorite object. Welcome, dear visitor! Very easy to tell the difference. v1 has a crazy design where it looks like it is made from lots of different mis-matched pieces and the focus ring is a strange metal knurled thing. v1: Welcome, dear visitor! I also have the v1 of the earlier ltm version that is styled after the Summilux v1 of 1959 or so. Optically I think they are identical, but the ltm is aluminum body and doesn't seem as rugged at the later models. I also have the chrome version of the M v1 (shown above) and mechanically it is very impressive and solid. The focus ring is indeed strange, but it works very well if you get used to it. I use the ltm adapted to my M5, where the size feels right, and results are great/
