Hi everyone!

I am the happy owner of a Leica Q3, and I am now considering the purchase of a small Gimball, in order to get smoother videos.

I’ve seen that the DJI RS3 Mini and the Crane M3 S seem to be the best options, but in both case, no Leica cameras are mentioned on their respective compatibility list.

Did anyone pull the trigger on one of these Gimbals and would be kind enough to share with me some feedback?

Many thanks in advance!

I use my Q3 on my RS3 Pro, Q3 is a fantastic video camera when it is on a gimbal.

Up to a 50 crop works really well.

Not sure what compatibility question you have though, you can mount any camera to a gimbal.

Many thanks for your feedback, Peter.

By compatibility, I mean the possibility to establish a Bluetooth connection between the Q3 and the gimbal in order to interact with the camera directly through the gimball commands (ex: starting the recording with the record button on the gimball, or change the aperture through the gimball control wheel, etc...)

I LOVE to use the Q3 on a Ronin SC2 gimble! It is one of the reasons wanted (badly) the Q3. It works great for small run and gun gimble work. But you can't control the camera setting gimble (yet). I photograph and document sales and event shows and up until the Q3 I used the SL2S and Atamos Ninja on the gimble with the 35 APO-SL or 75 APO-SL. Now the Q3 takes the place of both for the show footage and I can then use the camera as a stills camera later in the evening along with the Q2 monochrome. Great Camera. Also, the new auto face detection is very nice and it translates to better video footage on the fly.

Ok, many thanks for this clear explanation! 🙏

I have the Q3 and an RS3 Mini that I typically use with my Sony camera. I put the Q3 on it and it worked great, which is unsurprising since my Sony setup is heavier/larger.

How do you focus? I want to control it with the dial. I need help, please... Q3 28mm + RS 3 Mini
