Robert Walker Posted September 16, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve successfully linked my Q3 via the Leica photos app to my iPad Pro and transferred a pile of photograph files but I’m experiencing a problem with the video files. Message says that the videos are not in the correct format. Has anyone any advice as I thought Leica and Apple had cooperated to make this a seamless operation between their respective pieces of kit? Ozymandias Posted September 17, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 17, 2023 I've experienced the exact same issue. iPad Pro can't read the Q3 video files. Wondering if anyone has a simple solution? Paul

beewee Posted September 17, 2023 Share #4 Posted September 17, 2023 (edited) What video setting are you shooting that’s giving you issues? For example, are you shooting *.mov or *.mp4 containers? 8K, 4K, C4K? LongGOP, All-i? Normal colour or Log? 4:2:0 or 4:2:2? What app are you trying to watch the videos in? Photos, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or some other third-party app? Edited September 17, 2023 by beewee
Robert Walker Posted September 19, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted September 19, 2023 Thanks beewee, I’m recording video in 4K at 50 frames per second on the Q3 and attempting to view them on the iPad Pro in photos: it says that the video format is unreadable. Nick Raines recommended that video setting as appropriate for most people’s needs. Robert
SAronian Posted September 21, 2023 Share #6 Posted September 21, 2023 I only tried two of the many video formats and both played on an iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (5th Generation) FHD (1920x1080) / MP4 / H264 29.97fps/L-GOP/20Mbps/4:2:0-8bit SD & HDMI 4K (3840x2160) / MOV / H264 24fps/AII-I/400/4:2:2-10bit SD & HDMI
