The metering dot on my MP needs a touch up! Anyone know the best white paint/ink to use? Thanks.

...I'm curious, how long have you had the camera and when did this 'abrasion' appear? For some context, my three M film bodies were purchased brand new in 1986, 2004 and 2007 respectively - they have been in regular use in environments ranging from polar to equatorial, and I am yet to come across this issue. Perhaps I am just ignorant. Or lucky.

The metering pattern on my Olympus OM-2n's shutter curtain appears to be silkscreened--just another example of how Japanese manufacturers seem to have more refined production techniques than our beloved Leica.

I love the metering pattern on my once owned Minolta CLE. There are lots of seemingly randomly scattered white points on the curtain. There is also a metering cell inside the bottom of the mount. A devil idea comes to mind: what if I replace the metering curtain of M6/MP with the CLE’s?

Ive had the MP from new - 2003 I think. Noticed the ‘abrasion’ about a year ago.

No idea how it happened…..

I think maybe you have been shooting in some rough lighting conditions!

Such light is bound to be rough on the white dot.

Think this through.  The CLE's curtain is basically 50% black, 50% white.  The MP metering dot is 100% white.  So it will overexpose by 1 stop...
