ben446 Posted September 13, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) New to the S 007. In manual mode (M) and Live View, with Exposure Bracketing active (3 Shot 2 EV), Exposure Simulation is disabled. I use this all the time on the Q2 for sunsets. Am I missing a setting or is it just how it is? Not seeing a note about it in the manual. Any workflow workarounds people use? Same for all 3 metering methods. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Hi ben446, Take a look here Live View, Bracketing, Exposure Simulation is disabled. (007). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ben446 Posted September 13, 2023 Author Share #2 Posted September 13, 2023 Update: Leica is looking into this but it appears to be the same on the S3 as well. Apparently live view was gleaned from the video functionality and that may be why Exposure Simulation is disabled when Bracketing is activated.
davidmknoble Posted September 16, 2023 Share #3 Posted September 16, 2023 @ben446, I looked through my notes and could not find it, but I seem to remember something about exposure simulation and that intervals, bracketing and the like void the simulation, because it does not ‘know’ which frame to simulate or the processor is too busy with other things. I believe the workaround was to set it to something else, view simulations, set exposure and bring it back. I’m not sure that maybe I didn’t figure this out with the SL system, but I think they are probably similar enough. Curious what you find out from Leica!
