jackieboi Posted September 8, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is a look in Q2M photos that uses orange filter, rendering a very low contrast grayish unique look with probably the most distinctive attribute to skin tones ever (my opinion). I can't show any examples here since most of the photos were shot by others. I have a Leica q2 already and try to mimic q2m look with orange filter in LR. If anyone has tried or done that mimicking, please share with me. Or any presets that has the similar look?
Advertisement Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Hi jackieboi, Take a look here Q2M with orange filter (I think) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pcgarner Posted September 8, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 8, 2023 My Q2M has an OR B+W filter on all the time. I agree about the amazing tones. I don't see it w/ the Y or R filters. The OR has essentially replaced my UV.
jaapv Posted September 8, 2023 Share #3 Posted September 8, 2023 However, an Orange filter will not render greyish and flat files. Quite the contrary. It will increase contrast and emphasize skin blemishes and veins. Mainly used for sunny landscapes and as general contrast enhancer. For flattering caucasian skin tones a green filter is more appropriate. I suspect that the OP has seen straight DNG conversions of the Q2M. In general monochrome cameras produce quite flat files which must be improved in postprocessing.
