Enabling the digital zoom feature of the M11 with the rangefinder

I agree with the OP that -because a crop is possible in the settings, THEN it SHOULD also be able to see this in the framelines.

Now, for ages, the frameline selector is mechanical. So, living to the legacy, all might say this idea of changing it's selection is muck. Bad Idea.

But think differently. "Other" camera's have an electronic frameline. In the M, it it now is only electronically lit. Why not have an electronic frameline??? That can also have a follow-focus function to shift the position. The small screen to display the lines can back up the function to also show a preview.

Hey, on which "other" camera do we have that too? Well, my wife likes her "implementation" of such and gets great greens in the package.

Why the fuss of a crop function? Well, for some reason lens designers have left the corners 'in the dark' or worse, 'somewhere in the shubs'. That is, resolution drops so far as to be unpleasant. So we might deliberately want to use the lens in its best optical area.

SO -PLEASE ALLOW ME (and HDMESA) to compose that too. Let me see the corresponding framelines of the crop. Otherwise taking RF-pictures is silly.

[I don't have an M11..]

- Note. I have resold several wide angles for the reason of bad corners - that just destroy a picture - even a Super Leitz design for instance . But that are perfectly useful on a crop. Other WA's I had that are great, albeit being sharp, in the corners came as non-coupled to my dissatisfaction. They did function good on the M8.
