How to avoid Leica minilux e02 error

I just purchased a mint minilux on ebay. I chose this over contax t2 for its widest aperture priority and accurate metering. But it was after i bought it when i read about this infamous e02 error. I also read in other forums that only 5% of the miniluxes experienced this. Some says this occured when you open and close the lens inside a case or when not changing the battery when its a quarter low. Im afraid id hit this error too, so anyone know how to prevent this to happen? Thanks!

I have one with error 02 and another one Minilux which works fine.
