Advertisement Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 Hi Mustafa Umut Sarac, Take a look here Any WWII Summitar 5cm MTF and Color Response Test ? What is the scientific term for Color Response Analysis ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pgk Posted August 24, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 24, 2023 I've not seen much MTF data on older lenses. Most modern MTF data is supplied by the manufacturers and may be 'theoretical'; that is it is generated from the design not produced from testing a lens. A friend of mine who is a lens designer generated MTF curves of an 1857 lens for me based on the design parameters and probable glass types used back then. Tests can be made on lenses but require specialist equipment obviously. Colour Response Analysis is probably better referred to as Spectral Absorbtion, as lenses absorb liht and clearly cannot allow more than 100% of light through. So Spectral Absorbtion characteristics can be shown by a graph of wavelegth (visible light (and even UV/IR sometimes) against % of light which is transmitted through the lens. Hopefully this is what you were looking for?
