Sure, but then the tightening screw on the hood would be on the opposite side. It wouldn't bother me, but it might be an annoyance depending on how you place you focusing finger. Just out of curiosity I've been experimenting with a couple of the Canon cinch-clip hoods which I have. One of them works. I've added some pics and some info in a couple of posts in the other thread but I may as well post the 'general' pic here as well. This hood was originally intended to be used with the Canon Serenar-style 35mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.8 lenses. When clipped onto the front of the Rollei there is no vignetting / cut-off whatsoever. Pic; Nowhere near as pretty as the 'ROLLUX', of course, but a darned sight more effective that the original 'Wedding Band' as supplied by Rollei! It is shown here 'Filterless' but, having checked, it can be used with them. The rearmost part of the filter chamber is in front of the cinch-clip mechanism. Philip. NigelG Posted January 27 Share #44 Posted January 27 I always used the hood “upside down” on my CV 28 as I preferred not to see the logo…but yes occasionally my finger caught the screw.
Ecar Posted January 27 Share #45 Posted January 27 I can now confirm that the LH-2 doesn't vignette with a Leica E39 UV filter. Hope this helps. 2

I have no idea as to whether/how these changes materially affect the results on film.

I now know what you mean, Nigel, and thank you very much... Due to the wonderful generosity of a Fellow Forumite I am delighted to be able to use an example of the Voigtlander version (shall we call it the 'VOLLUX'?) of the Rollei ('ROLLUX') version of the Leitz OLLUX with my 'Dearly Belovèd' 40mm f2.8 Rollei Sonnar. The general look of the crackle-paint style finish is shown beautifully in ECAR's earlier post (#39) so here are a couple of gratuitous throwaway snaps of the lens+hood set mounted on my own bodies. Normally I don't particularly like the 'Panda' look but with this hood fitted on the Rollei I think the pairing looks very harmonious; Incidentally the pics of each combo was captured with a 90mm f2.5 Summarit fitted to the 'other' body which experience was, in itself, an interesting experiment...
