wparsonsgisnet Posted November 19, 2007 Share #21 Posted November 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am in the practice of swapping the battery when a single segment shows in the indicator. For the first 2/3 of "life" I get 300 shots (with review on). During a busy shoot, this takes about 2 hours indoors. If I'm taking shots on a less active schedule, the battery lasts about 4 hours with the camera on all the time.
Advertisement Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Hi wparsonsgisnet, Take a look here M8 battery. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Daniel Ortego Posted November 19, 2007 Share #22 Posted November 19, 2007 I haven’t purchased a second battery yet, since I’m not a pro or anything close to it. However, I can see already that a second battery is essential, regardless of skill level. Anyone know the average cost of the Leica brand battery? jaapv Posted November 19, 2007 Share #23 Posted November 19, 2007 I don't think you need to be a pro to have a second battery... There are plenty of amateur situations where a backup battery is essential. I wouldn't consider owning a digital or indeed any battery-dependent camera without a second battery. Anyone know the average cost of the Leica brand battery?Regards, I am a totally amateur and have 6 batteries for the M8's I have, I have 2 bodies. The day I ordered my M8 I ordered one extra battery from the place I bought the M8 and another from B&H. That gave me 3 batteries. Then I got a second body and ordered a aftermarket battery. That gave me a total of 5 batteries. I got the sixth as a gift from a supplier, a aftermarket model. You can never have to many batteries.

Daniel Ortego Posted November 19, 2007 Share #26 Posted November 19, 2007 Thanks, I suppose a hundred bucks isn't so bad considering the initial 9k investment - I'll order it today. I guess now I'll need a bag, etc. etc. Oh well, so much for dissolving my debt. Regards,
