Peak Design Field Pouch v2

Hi all,

I’m in the market for a belt loop bag. I like the look of the field pouch v2 from Peak Design but have concerns about the internal zip causing damage to my gear when moving around. Does anyone have any direct experience with this bag and a Leica M?

What's your typical setup when you travel?

Personally I don't like zips and velcros.

Also some bags may be too small for a Leica M with a long lens. 

Having looked at the Peak Design Field Pouch V2, I find it more suitable for various odds and ends when you travel e.g. keys, documents, phone, charger etc.

It will fit an M3 with Summicron rigid + hood (just). Personally don't see the zip as an issue, but each to their own. You can put on the belt and still have the strap cross shoulder...

Hi, typically I have a Billingham Hadley Pro which houses two M cameras,2-3 lenses, my iPad and some bits and pieces. 
 

I’m after a very small pouch for just an M camera with lens attached and a spare battery and memory card. Preferably waterproof.  The field pouch v2 looked ok and is readily available where I am at the moment but I’m also not keen on zips, especially internally where my camera and lens will sit.

Thanks. Good tip with the doubling up. Do you have first hand experience of this bag?

I sometime use the Tech Pouch other than ARTISAN & ARTIST ACAM-414 Elastic Case.

It's well-organized for camera accessories and still have enough major space for M10M/M10-R or else.

The upside is that the inner zipper sit in the middle and it's damage-free while your camera sits in the Tech Pouch.

 

For a further reference, I have 3 ARTISAN & ARTIST ACAM-414 Elastic Cases because it's more easy to organize while using a number of Tumi series or so.

Have you considered an Avea 8 end pouch. It should fit a Leica M with a lens. You can wear it on your belt and you can also use it as an end pocket for your Hadley Pro.

Interesting option. I've considered the 72 due to the additional strap option but not this one. Irrespective of what I end up with, I may pick one of these up too for when I want to take just one carry on piece of luggage for air travel. Thank you.

Here's another for you to consider. I've used this Lowepro m-Trekker HP 120 for almost two years for carrying a small assortment. Any belt pack, including this one, will get quite heavy when loaded with a M body and a lens or two so wearing it on a belt or even strapped around the waist doesn't work out. I wear it cross shoulder and it's quite comfortable. I also have a method for attaching it to the handlebars of my bike. Everything you see laid out here fits easily into the bag, with additional room for filters, cleaning cloths and the like. The zippers present no problem and don't come into direct contact with the camera or lenses.

Hi all, thank you for all your suggestions.

 

I ended up purchasing two bags. A small Think Tank that fits inside my backpack nicely and a Billingham 72.

I use similar setup. For my height, I need a long strap too. I use the PeakDesign Slide strap for this combo. I am able to fit the M11+50 Summilux Asph comfortably with room for SD cards, micro fiber and one battery without over-stuffing the bag. I use a very lightweight leather wrist strap with the M11 which has always worked out for minimal carry options.
