Turisten Posted August 10, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) On the dng files from Q3 in lightroom set to daylight on a daylight scene they look green. Set to as shot they look ok. Is there a setting in lightroom or on the Q3 that I should change?
Advertisement Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Hi Turisten, Take a look here White Balance Q3 in lightroom green. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted August 10, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2023 Work on a general outdoor image. Start by using AWB on the camera, although this is not really relevant. It is more to make life easier. The green cast is not in the DNG file, but created in Lightroom. Start out by making sure that your monitor is calibrated properly and that your ambient light is neutral. No tungsten,LED or fluorescent. Use “basic” in LR. Then use the “as shot” setting. Hit “auto”. Now, working from top to bottom adjust the image to your liking. Save the settings. The next time you can use your personal settings. I will only use the “as shot” settings or “auto” settings from Adobe. All the other ones I find useless. Turisten Posted August 10, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted August 10, 2023 Thanks for the feedback. Using awb on camera and calibrated screen. Strange that daylight set in LR is "not working" properly on Q3 files.
jaapv Posted August 11, 2023 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2023 It is not working properly on any of my cameras, nor are the other ones.
sparkone Posted August 11, 2023 Share #5 Posted August 11, 2023 I have this problem too, my guess is that it is because Lightroom cannot interpret the Q3 DNG files correctly.
jaapv Posted August 11, 2023 Share #6 Posted August 11, 2023 Actually, I am not quite sure why anybody would want to use these settings when the colour balance sliders and eyedropper tool are much more convenient. Maybe Adobe isn't either.
