I have a small Vivitar 2800 flash I wanted to use with my M10.  It has a 35v trigger voltage (measured.)   I've searched and was unable to find specifics on what trigger voltage the M10 cameras can handle safely without damage.  Info I could find said 300v for the M240; however the M10 is not, of course, an M240.

Unable to find any authoritative or definitive information online, I emailed Leica New Jersey who, not having an answer at hand, in turn emailed Leica Wetzler.  It took about five days (over a weekend) to get the reply,  but the reply from Wetzler was this (bold and italics added for effect):

“In principle, the ignition voltage should not exceed 18 volts for current cameras in order to avoid damage to the electronics.   If the customer is not sure what voltage his flashes should have, it is better not to use them”

So, there is now an authoritative and definitive answer should anyone else need it.
