There are surprisingly several underwater housings, but at least 2K for a plastic housing is ridiculus, the aluminum ones more than 4K what is very expensive too, my Nauticam LX100 housing was less than 2K and it's top quality. i would buy a "cheap" one if less than 1K for when i go out when stormy or after storms. PeterHatt Posted January 30 Share #26 Posted January 30 Try, “underwater housing camera“ search on Amazon UK, although some of the stuff seems very expensive
goldgranada Posted January 30 Share #27 Posted January 30 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Been looking at this item, less that the normal $2000 price tag (used item) but a lot less than replacing the Q2 camera. I don't anticipate any diving trips in the near future otherwise I'd have already bought it. Buying used from B&H has always been a positive experience with never a concern of the condition descriptions or a return if necessary. Perhaps an alternative option that doesn't "break the bank." https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/803047011-USE/aquatech_10366_edge_water_housing_for.html I'm sorry, that unit is for a Q3 camera. PATB Posted January 30 Share #29 Posted January 30 (edited) Going to back to weather-sealing, so is it OK to take pictures under light snow fall? I will be bringing my Q3 43 to the Sapporo Snow Festival and am wondering if I can continue taking pictures when it is snowing. If not, I may have to cover it with a plastic bag while taking pictures 🤔 Edited January 30 by PATB

I will be bringing my Q3 43 to the Sapporo Snow Festival and am wondering if I can continue taking pictures when it is snowing. If not, I may have to cover it with a plastic bag while taking pictures 🤔 A well timed question as I have just returned home from Lapland and the Q3 was the only digital camera I took. It was snowing there constantly and I never once put it in its case or even bothered wiping it too often. It never skipped a beat. I was delighted with the care free feeling it afforded me during my travels.
PhotoCruiser Posted January 31 Share #31 Posted January 31 vor 18 Stunden schrieb PATB: under light snow fall Under light snow fall should be fine and costa43 confirmed that, however i would had wiped her dry after use. Do a search here, there are some who damaged their Q's with rain and be informed that water damage is not covered by the warranty, so you may sign up with a personal insurance for water damage. What about a umbrella? That is what i use when it's raining, snow may fly around and can render a umbrella useless. Chris
Olaf_ZG Posted February 1 Share #32 Posted February 1 I once was caught with a huge summer downpour, which lasted an hour or so. Within minutes I was soaked and I could not shelter. The Q2 really got a fair deal of water but nothing happened. I just dried it upon return. However, since then, I always carry a tiny plastic bag in the leica battery pouch together with a spare battery, just in case.

I usually use my Q2 with the below shown pvc watertight sling bag with a long zipper so that i can put the camera in and out without taking the bag off. For bump protection i either use a towel or use a cheap colt style camera bag for padding. It is a Italian Company Amphibious Dry Equipment, but i guess with some searching there will be other companies having the same/similar also worldwide. Welcome, dear visitor!
