hammam Posted November 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I installed firmware 1.110 (without really knowing why, I must confess. I guess I trust every firmware version to bring some improvement.) Now, is it me, or the writing speed for DNG+jpeg is quite slower than before? I use Sandisk Extreme III 2 gig. Thanks. Advertisement Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Hi hammam, Take a look here Firmware 1.110. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
canlogic Posted November 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 14, 2007 I use the same cards and don't see any difference. Why use in camera jpegs when you can so easily create them with the correct white balance etc. Maybe this is slowing it down.
Jamie Roberts Posted November 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 14, 2007 Olivier--I haven't noticed a difference, and I always shoot RAW + JPEG.
wparsonsgisnet Posted November 14, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 14, 2007 I have not noticed a change in write time, either (also write hi-res jpg + dng). I believe the shutter sounds different, tho. To me, there is a small pause after the shutter actuation and before the cocking action that makes the sound less onerous. Maybe there's someone out there who wants to record the pre- and post-version shutter actions..........nah, let's just get some lenses and take some pix.
