The EVF on my Q3 is becoming unsharp after the camera hit focus. At first, I thought it was the diopter setting, but it did not fix the issue. It's quite annoying, even if the photos are perfectly sharp.

Is this problem specific to my Q3, or is it something that LEICA will have to address with a firmware update?

Is this issue present in both the Q and Q2 models, or is it exclusive to the Q3?

I have no idea if it is a bug or what else. However, I had the chance to play with a brand new Q3, just out of the box". I was surprised that the EVF was totally unsharp. After changing the diopter It was fine. At least for some hours.

This effect you’re observing (and I am with my Q3) is similar to the Panasonic S1R and Leica SL2. Both are high res sensors with the same EVF that’s in the Q3…and we know Panasonic helps Leica with the tech in their cameras.

If you watch DPReview review of the Leica SL2, Chris mentions the same effect of the EVF going blurry during autofocus. I wish Leica/Panasonic would find a solution to this.

I’ll add that my Panasonic S1 and Leica SL2S did not have this issue with the 24mp sensor. So, it’s an issue of the autofocus tech for a high resolution sensor and this specific 5.7 million dot EVF.
