Marcel Samek Posted July 25, 2023 Share #1  Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Intermittently, the meter in my SL2 will just not turn on. It does not matter what I do with the advance lever, it just plays dead. However, I know that the meter is getting power from the battery because the test button works flawlessly. The meter is accurate when it works. There are days where the meter works all the time and there are days where it will work once and then stop for hours. If I leave the camera sit for a couple of hours, it will invariable work the next time I pick it up. I have found no rhyme or reason to how its behaving, but I would like to fix it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try? Is this a problem anyone else has run into? I have not found a service manual for the SL2. Is it difficult to get at the meter switch to see what might be going on? If its relatively simple, I might be willing to try it myself.  Edited July 25, 2023 by Marcel Samek
Advertisement Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Hi Marcel Samek, Take a look here Leicaflex SL2 intermittent meter switch problem (and repair advice). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bherman01545 Posted July 25, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted July 25, 2023 Not sure what to try? There is a basic circuit board in the camera and it may be as simple as a cold solder joint. If it were me, I would send the camera to Don Goldberg (DAG Camera Repair) He is a factory-trained expert on the Leicaflex cameras
