Hello,

I hope it's ok to talk about Leica M lenses adapted to other camera brands.

I bought a Voigtlander 35 f/1.4 for Leica M to use it on my Fuji X-Pro 2, and I love it.
I like how compact the lens is, the focusing tab, the feeling, and of course, the quality.
The cherry on top is the Leica M adapter, which is quite thin compared to other manual lens adapters. This thing alone makes adapting Leica M lenses a plus.

Now I'm wondering if there is any 18 mm similar to the Voigtlander lenses for Leica M.

For the time being, I added the Voigtlander 21 mm f/4 Color Skopar, which I'm still testing, but I would consider buying the extra mm if the price range it's still close to the Voigtlander lenses.

Any suggestion?

The 18mm f3.8 Super Elmar is first-rate.

Sadly, discontinued so unless one can run down a new-old stock unit you’d need to find it second-hand, and the filter adapter can be a tough unit to run down. I finally found one after hunting for months.

But the Leica images are nicer…(and Zeiss, for that matter)

Not when adapted to Fuji cameras they’re not.  Which is why I used Fuji lenses on my Fuji, and Leica on my Leica.

Thank you all for your insights, much appreciated!

I checked the options suggested, and it seems there's no compact or close-to-pancake solution for the 18 mm.

About the reason why I'm looking at adapting lenses rather than going with Fuji native solutions, it's pretty simple: even though I like Fuji lenses, they're not ideal for manual shooting mode.

Don't forget the Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21 mm Asph! Due to its unique (among M lenses) retro-focus design, it's the best super-wide for use on non-M digital cameras via an M adapter.

You mean because the 'focus by wire' method they incorporated?  Unfortunately if that is the issue, you're out of luck for small 18mm Leica lenses.

But, if you are willing to go wider, the original Voigtlander 15mm LTM mount is very small.  I use it on LTM and M cameras.  On your Fuji that would be about a 24mm lens

Exactly. Of course, distance markings are also missing. So, quite useless for zone focusing.

The Voigtlander 15 mm is actually something I was considering. It might be too wide for my needs, but it's next on my list, depending on how it goes with the Voigtlander 21 mm.

By far the most compact solution characterized by its especially thin pancake profile is the Color-Skopar 21mm f/4 P from Voigtlander which you are testing. Nothing even remotely near it in the UWA range I am afraid as far as size.
Two other (bigger but cheap and FAST) options are Lomography Atoll 17mm f/2.8 and the Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D ZM.
