Dave in Wales Posted July 19, 2023 Share #1 Â Posted July 19, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Lovely little lens for the money. Two problems I have found straight away. No grip at mount end to aid assembly and disassembly, have to use complete lens with hood reversed. AF/MF switch in wrong orientation, it's radial so very easy to to switch from AF to MF when assembling. I spent the whole of my first morning with it in MF when I wanted AF, should have been more attentive I suppose. The switch should be axial IMVHO. Advertisement Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Hi Dave in Wales, Take a look here Critique.......Sigma 24mm F2 DG DN Contemporary - L Mount. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Archiver Posted October 6, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted October 6, 2023 How do you find the image quality? I've had my eye on the 24/2 as a general purpose walkaround lens.
Olaf_ZG Posted October 7, 2023 Share #3  Posted October 7, 2023 I bought it and sold it. Quality wise all was fine, but somehow, the images to me weren’t that nice. Didn’t like its rendering. Many here are very enthusiastic about the 3.5, so that might be a better try. I went in the end with a m-mount.
agfa100 Posted December 19, 2024 Share #4  Posted December 19, 2024 I was looking for a 24mm f 3.8 M lens I had used from a friend, but went with the Sigma 24mm f 3.5 and I think it is a real sleeper of a lens.
hoolyproductions Posted December 20, 2024 Share #5  Posted December 20, 2024 I also have the f3.5; I don't really need a fast lens at that focal length. I use it for candid landscapes and cityscapes/abstracts when I don't want to carry a heavy zoom and find it very sharp, even if (very subjectively, I am not a connoisseur ) it doesn't have the awesome drawing of an APO SL. The 17mm f4 seems equally good to me and I am often conflicted which one to carry 🙂
