Hello, I have an Elmarit 28mm for R cameras that a purchased about 20 years ago from Ken Hanson in NYC. Shortly after buying it I noticed the engraving was missing the “L” in “ELMARIT”. It’s not a case of the paint missing it looks as though it was missed by the engraver at the Leica factory (see photo). Of course it does not affect the performance so I kept the lens and had many happy years of shooting with it: although I don’t use the 28mm focal length often.  I’m now parting ways with most of my R system and want to sell this lens as well. A riend mentioned that it may have added value to a collector because of the engraving error.(?)  So I’m posting to find out if anyone can advise on if there is a market for this? I really have no idea.
thanks!

The forum will not give valuations. I am sure expert members will join the conversation. As this is not a collector’s lens but more a very good user one I would expect minimal price impact. Such engraving errors are not uncommon.
