jaapv Posted November 12, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got a letter from our importer, that LeicaNews has been discontinued, to be replaced by a publication that is more "Life-style oriented" If it is anything like the magazine Jaguar sends me, that won't be an improvement. I'm not really interested in all the glossy stuff about Prada shoes, TAG Heuer watches, holidays in Dubai, etc... The function, imo, should be to inform us about new Leica developments and products, like ummm... LeicaNews.
Advertisement Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Leica News discontinued. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted November 12, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2007 I agree, that's a step backwards. I was hoping that Leica would continue to distance itself from the expensive trinklet market. Heavens, they'll be inviting Hermes to buy a share in the company next...
Alessandro Fanchin Posted November 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2007 Usually I refuse or throw away immediately any glossy magazine included in the daily newspaper. And I think to cite in tribunal the companies that send me those magazines at home for free, since they are using my time to throw them away in the proper paper recycling trash can. Iron Flatline Posted November 13, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 13, 2007 I like the one I get from American Express "Departures." Audi's is pretty informative.
carstenw Posted November 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 13, 2007 Let's see what we get before denigrating it. It sounds odd tough, I must admit. Hermes-like.
rob_x2004 Posted November 14, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 14, 2007 Cartier? Then we might even see leader lines.
guywalder Posted November 14, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) rather unfair to criticise it without seeing it, however its very illuminating to see what Leica see as their custmers interests...
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted November 14, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 14, 2007 This seems to be the consequence of closing LEICA WORLD down. Much to my regret. No more LEICA WORLD as well ... Best
marknorton Posted November 14, 2007 Share #9 Posted November 14, 2007 Is Leica World going as well? Don't tell me, in an effort to sell the Digilux 3s which are proving a trip hazard in Solms because there are so many getting in the way, we're going to see Leica Digilux 3 News and Leica Digilux 3 World. I also assume the publishers of LFI have been persuaded to rename their publication LD3FI as well. Nightmare!
