jonnyboy Posted June 21, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone, I have to go and shoot a bunch of portraits in an artist studio - I will have my Leica SL2-S with me with some primes. I recently acquired a Godox AD100 Pro with a Godox X-Pro II (L) Trigger. I don't have any diffuser/accessories at this point. My goal is to capture something towards this: Welcome, dear visitor! And have some sort of separation between the subject and the environment - with dark and bright areas, just like in this pic. Now, I do lack a lot of knowledge (and practice) in this field but I thought this could be a good opportunity to get it together. For all of you flash/strobes photography shooters, would you recomend me using any of those bowen mount diffuser: Or can I just use a honey comb from this kit: Any advice would be really appreciated!! Advertisement Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 Hi jonnyboy, Take a look here Leica SL2 with Godox Strobe. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Photoworks Posted June 22, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2023 That is probably a small softbox or umbrella pointing down in the image. Why is the stand in the photo? you are probably better off with a boom and sandbag
Olaf_ZG Posted June 23, 2023 Share #3 Posted June 23, 2023 I want light to be soft, so i prefer a big umbrella.I have the godox kit, but still prefer the umbrella.
jonnyboy Posted June 23, 2023 Author Share #4 Posted June 23, 2023 Yeah not sure why the stand is on that photo - it makes me think stylistic choice maybe? I bought the bracket for bowen mount but it doesnt fit (I bought the S1 when I should have bought the S2 - duh!!) so I'm returning it. I got the shoot today so at this point it will have to be honeycomb & dome diffuser 🫤
jonnyboy Posted June 26, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted June 26, 2023 The shoot went quite alright, in the end I've used a bowen mount converter and applied one of my big softbox I use for filming. I used the Godox AD100 in TTL, the studio was quite dark I'm happy with the results but I thought the strobe was a bit more powerful.
