Abenteueranalog Posted June 19, 2023 Share #1  Posted June 19, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, I bought the Sigma Art 24-70 on the weekend thanks to two unbeatable promotions. My concerns about quality or autofocus were at least null and void. But I have one question for which I don't yet see a solution. The lens has a soft button. How (the hell) do I control or even configure it? Because it currently does, as far as I can see: Nothing. Unfortunately, the forum has not yet produced a functional solution. If it doesn't work and someone from Leica product development is reading along: could you please put this feature into the next FW update? Press and hold -> configure button. Thank you and have a nice week!

jaapv Posted June 19, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted June 19, 2023 If it is a button on the lens, you'll have to ask Sigma.

I don't know an other to to configure the button on the Leica SL (I use the 601). -thomas
Abenteueranalog Posted June 19, 2023 Author Share #4 Â Posted June 19, 2023 Yes, the button on the lense. I don't think th eproblem is on SIGMAs side. Because there is no function in the menues from the SL2 targeting this button. May booth companys should work on it. Will try the Sigma-Dock. Thanks
jaapv Posted June 19, 2023 Share #5  Posted June 19, 2023 If the button activates a function in a camera it will not work if the camera lacks that function. The L alliance only addresses compatibility insofar as firmwares offer the same functionality but there are always blank areas (like lens firmaware updates. E.g Leica for Leica lenses uses the camera but Sigma uses the USB dock, if you have a Leica lens on a Panasonic or Sigma you’ll have to borrow an SL to update the lens, etc. ) Compatible does not mean identical.
Pelu2010 Posted February 24, 2024 Share #6  Posted February 24, 2024 Hey, but we could ask for a feature, couldn't we? It would be very nice if we could use it as a function button. Maybe some Leica engineer is a little bit board with the excellent performance of their lenses and tries out the lens. Then, when he or she is in a good mood maybe they give the lens/camera system some features. So many useful things could be done. Hey engineer heaven can you hear me? It's almost eastern and wouldn't it be great if the SL3 could use this feature too? cheers Peter

Just like they did linear MF on all L lenses
