Now that the S System seems to be retiring and lens prices are coming down I thought it would be a nice resource for people that are looking to buy used lenses to be able to see how each of the different S System lenses render without having to wade through the Leica S image thread where the images aren't always clearly marked.

I don't own the 100mm Summmicron-S, but it will probably be the next one I buy if I find one for a good price!
Would be great if someone that owns the 30mm, 45mm, 120mm could make the appropriate  threads and keep them alive.

Please add your images with the Leica Summicron-S 100mm. Looking forward to see all your work.

Sebben,   You might send a PM to Milan_S who uses the S 100 for his work.  I would think he would be more than happy to share some of his superb S 100 images. There are several posted on the S Image thread.  Just an idea for your consideration.  r/ Mark

PS....One such S 100 image by Milan is posted at #5019 on the S Image thread.

I have been following the huge thread, but as it is not organised it is difficult to refer back to specific lenses. If was hoping splitting up the images into different threads would be helpful for those that are lens shopping or looking for focal length inspiration. I at least find it useful following the focal lens threads in the M forum.

Sebben,  I agree with you and a great idea.  I posted a suggestion for S camera/lens users at your S 24 Super Elmar OP thread.  There is one site that does exactly what you are seeking for nearly all S lens focal lengths.  its only missing photographs for the S 100, S120 T/S and maybe one other that I can't remember off hand.  Maybe you can post the links to the site or copy and paste each image thread for that S lens FL to one S lens OP thread.  I find that lens thread and photographs most helpful and for my students.  BTW, you have most excellent images posted as well.  r/ Mark

This was taken with the 100/2 on an S3 (beta version), but it's a very tight crop, so it doesn't show off the lens characteristics. OTOH, I like it.😇 It's a large soap bubble that was floating over a pond in Central Park.

Thank you @LeicaR10 for quoting me about using the Summicron-S 100mm f2, it's definitely one of my favorite lenses of all time and it has a very distinguishable look.
It's probably my most used S lens and it's sometimes difficult to tame on the S because of the sluggish AF but when you nail it, it's magical.

Leica S3 and Summicron-S 100mm f2 wide open. #milanswolfs

Milan_S,  You are most welcome.  Your genre of photography and photographs are simply superb and works of art of a bygone era.  When I used the S system for my business for over a decade, I enjoyed using the S 100 often for landscapes.  My clients were often amazed at the rendering by the lens.  You are right about the taming aspect, but once mastered it delivers in spades.  Its a lot like the M Noctilux in many regards and even Leica refers to it as such.  Keep creating your most excellent and much admired masterpiece photographs.  r/ Mark

Thank you so much for your kind words Mark, is there anywhere where I can see your landscapes?

reminds me of the 50 Summilux ASPH

The focus fall-off at the MFD of the S 100 looks very pretty. We still recognize the structure of objects, but they are drawn very nicely behind the focus plane. I will test the Summilux-R 80 with the Summcricon-S 100 for similar framing over the holidays.
