adrianh Posted June 18, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) My M10R arrived last week and I've updated it to the latest FW. I noticed that if I connect my Iphone to it, Fotos App will work fine. However, afterwards, nothing works anymore, I can't switch it off. I have the Leica Sync on my Mac, and same happens there. My M10R will boot up Wi-Fi in about 30-40 seconds reliably, connection works stable as long as you use it. But, as soon as I switch the camera off, the screen stays on and not much is happening. LEDs in the Viewfinder also working, but I can't take any pictures. Switching it back on also does not help. Only taking out the battery will do. After re-inserting the battery, all works fine. Until I connect it via Wi-FI. I use Leica's own Hotspot, so do not connect to any router. Edited June 18, 2023 by adrianh
Advertisement Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Hi adrianh, Take a look here M10R freezing after Wi-Fi Connection. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Siriusone59 Posted June 18, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 18, 2023 Have you tried turning off wifi(Fotos) in the camera's menu prior to switching it off? I got in the habit of doing it that way because I rarely use the wifi connection and had a similar issue when I first started using it.
adrianh Posted June 19, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted June 19, 2023 Thanks, haven't done that before, I just discgnected, same way I do with my A7RV. I'll give it a try the next time I will connect to download pics.
tobey bilek Posted June 20, 2023 Share #4 Posted June 20, 2023 Similar happened to my 10 if I used the sensor spot check. It would not go out of that mode even if I removed/replaced battery. All it did was repeat a photo of checking screen and would not do a regular photo. I found shutter had been moved to bulb and I also checked main menu. one of two or both fixed it. After the foto download has finished (successfully), the back screen is more or less stuck. I can move the cursor for the focus spot but that is all. Camera will also not turn off. This happens only after starting WLAN and downloading pictures from the card.
Siriusone59 Posted June 22, 2023 Share #6 Posted June 22, 2023 Sorry to hear that, problem must be above my pay grade.😜 My experience with the wifi is only when using LeicaSync. I tried again to see if I was missing any steps. First went to camera menu and turned on Fotos, then on MacBook to connect with camera. After both camera and MacBook showed connected I opened LeicaSync. Picked a couple of images from the card and downloaded them. Then, and this I didn't mention earlier, I broke the wifi connection at the Mac. The camera still on the WLAN screen showed disconnected so I turned off WLAN. Then turned off camera after exiting menu. I remember when first trying it I had a freeze or two but now my routine and m10r seem to get along rather well...probably just dumb luck though. dugby Posted June 22, 2023 Share #7 Posted June 22, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I regularly use Fotos v4.0.1 on my iPhone 12Pro (iOS 16.5) to download from my M10-R (fw 30.22.23.34) and after which I select on the M10-R menu "Turn off WLAN" and then continue to take photos. Could you verify the versions of each component (like above). Additional suggestion, with a near fully charged battery, in the M10-R menus, select the "Reset Camera" option and retry the actions
adrianh Posted June 23, 2023 Author Share #8 Posted June 23, 2023 Thanks all, got this resolved today by exchanging the SD-Card. That was it! I do not have to turn anything off in the menus, I can even scroll through the menus during download. Happy again!
