leifoto Posted June 12, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Guten Tag. Danke. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 Hi leifoto, Take a look here Leica HEER. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spydrxx Posted June 12, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 12, 2023 I don't know your local market, but based on Ebay sold auctions, the price you are being offered seems quite high unless you have good solid provenance of ownership. If you are looking for a good older Barnack style Leica to take photographs with rather than as a collector's item, I suggest you visit a reputable Leica dealer who can discuss the mechanical and optical condition and offer some sort of warranty. An alternative, of course, is to purchase from a reputable dealer on Ebay, sight unseen, but with return privileges.

You have posted in the international (english) section.
PG Black nickel Posted June 12, 2023 Share #5 Posted June 12, 2023 it's a IIIB, there were very few of this model reserved for the army, no close # in the lists... the second is a IIIC, so it's difficult to compare. The summar (#559094 it seems to me) is close to a series reserved for the air force. But it is difficult to refer to the lists, which are not exhaustive. It is indeed a IIIB from 1940... that's all we can say.

As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! shutter curtains need to be replaced from time to time and when the camera was sent to Leitz it was replaced with ordinary black one. Back in the 1970ies a couple of "new" red curtains (not that old Kodak-stuff) was used by some repair-shops. Nothing wrong with that to keep a kind of original look but not really authentic. Just look at the pic and make your own thoughts.
