Ivan Goriup Posted June 11, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last week I did a little fly-fishing on the Madison river near the west Yellowstone park entrance. The minute I got out of the car to change into my waders and rig up my rod, this guy landed in a nearby tree & watched me intently, hoping to snatch some hooked rainbows off my fly. He tried several times, but no joy......for him, and I did catch quite a few that day on dry flies. Note: Taken with my SL & 100-400 Leica V.E. with 1.4 extender.- I won't post in the 100-400 thread in the SL forum anymore because of all the negative remarks and hypothetical cliches being thrown up on that thread by some folks with obviously no first-hand knowledge nor empirical experience with either the 100-400 or the 90-280. Sick & tired of all the chin music about how they're not the same quality, hand-wringing about not being a 'real' Leica lens, convulsing about adopting someone else's optical formula, blah, blah, blah ad infintum, instead of posting their photos taken with this new lens and letting those speak for themselves. I am perfectly content with my 100-400 V.E., and it has certainly earned a permanent place in my SL array for those shots that I think could not successfully be taken with any of the other SL ( or M ) glass I currently own.
