If I enlarge a print do I reduce perceived depth of filed? Yes (that was what I initially failed to grasp when the equivalent aperture was discussed). I actually “knew” this intuitively when checking if I nailed focus after taking a picture: when I look at the thumbnail almost everything is within the depth of field, so I “knew” I needed to zoom in/enlarge it to something resembling the final output size (either iPhone screen, or full screen) to see if I actually nailed focus and the eye (or whatever I was aiming for) actually was within the acceptable focus depth of field for that particular output size.
