Clook Posted June 2, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone any idea why my 1994 chrome M6 has a red '125' on the shutter speed dial, as opposed to black? Just wondering. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Advertisement Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 Hi Clook, Take a look here Red '125' on M6 shutter speed dial.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted June 2, 2023 Share #2 Posted June 2, 2023 Is it in your possession from new ? If bought second hand, maybe the former user colored the 125 in red for her/his convenience.
Clook Posted June 2, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted June 2, 2023 Not mine from new, so perhaps a previous user modification, but why?
a.noctilux Posted June 2, 2023 Share #4 Posted June 2, 2023 (edited) Very simple indeed. I bet 125 setting is his/her prefered speed. Modification to be better seen is my prefered style for decades. As soon as I have possibility, I do this routinely, like here to see at a glance if the setting is on A, a piece of tape in this case Welcome, dear visitor! Clook Posted June 3, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted June 3, 2023 Ahh, ok. I can understand this. I also have a M7 which I prefer to use on 'A'. Occasionally if it is used on other settings and not returned it can mean there is a moment of confusion when taking the next photo.
oldwino Posted June 6, 2023 Share #6 Posted June 6, 2023 Henri Cartier-Bresson would put reference marks on his lenses in red nail polish for quicker / easier set up. Same sort of thing.
