These questions may be premature (since I’m guessing no one has yet received a copy), but with respect to the Leica Q3 Wireless Charging Handgrip HG-DC1 does anyone know:

(A) Whether it features an Arca Swiss compatible rail for mounting on a tripod head quick release (I read somewhere that it does but it sure doesn’t look like it)?

(B) Is it removable without using an Allen key (i.e., does it have a thumb wheel)?

This is how it looks…

No thumb wheel. You wouldn’t need any, I would say.

You’re right, that’s all I need - just wanted to avoid having to use an Allen key. Also doesn’t look like it’s Arca Swiss compatible - at least based on your photo. Thanks!

It is quite ugly and large… not arca Swiss compatibility ? Leica should have made the same handgrip as the M11… wireless charging can be useful but not at the expense of Arca Swiss

Does anybody know if the wireless charging pad knows when to stop charging and when to throttle the charge in order to prolong the life of the battery?

I'm using mine at the moment for the first time and it gets decently warm!

What is that gorgeous leather strap, please?

These are the famous « Gordy’s » camera straps. Just a simple but nice product, bought some decade ago and they are still there.

It's not arca swiss compatible, sadly, and is also made of a lot of plastic. Makes the overall camera feel a lot cheaper. I will be replacing mine with an RRS grip or, if Leica make one, an M11 style handgrip that is arca compatible, made of metal and has access to battery & card. Wireless charging is not as useful as those to me.

Yes I believe it does having used my several times now, however, I find the placement of the grip on the charging pad has to be very exact unlike say placing an iPhone to charge on it. Equally the two raised charging points cause the camera to tip very slightly, so I find I have to 'push' the camera down and then the charging process starts. I then release the camera and it carries on charging.

It' not quite as seamless as wireless charging for phones and AirPods etc.

I found out:

With charging-adapters < 100W it is blinking red, but when i use my 100W or 120W adapter for the Qi-loading-pad it is blinking green while loading.
