Daniel Ortego Posted November 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I received my new M8 after a bit of a run-around with the FedEx driver, only to find it impossible to open the box containing the camera. As crazy as this reads, I wonder if I’m the only person on the forum that has experienced any reservations after investing in an M8 with a prime Leica lens. Dang, have I lost my mind or what? Advertisement Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Hi Daniel Ortego, Take a look here Leica Therapy. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
george + Posted November 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2007 Well, at least you can be certain that nobody opened the box before you. Try to move those little locking flaps out - sometimes they can use the point of a small knife to un-budge them. Don't worry, the camera is deep inside. Good luck! mat_mcdermott Posted November 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 10, 2007 I had no reservations once I had figured out what other bits of my kit I had to sell to afford the camera body... Once you get that box open, charge the battery and start taking some pictures your sanity should return pretty quickly.

Guest tummydoc Posted November 10, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 10, 2007 I wonder if I’m the only person on the forum that has experienced any reservations after investing in an M8 with a prime Leica lens. Definitely not, and if you look outside the forum you'll find even more since in the real world there isn't always a cadre of apologists ready to pounce like jackals. I hope I'm wrong but considering what many of us have had to tolerate to persevere with the M8, it doesn't bode well that you're already frustrated just trying to get the box open

Dang, have I lost my mind or what?Regards, Are you talking the BIG box that everything comes in or the small box the actual camera body comes in? If it's the small box then that is normal. It is tightly fit and there is foam inside it surrounding the camera. When you try to take the 2 halfs apart a suction/vacuum happens making it a even tighter fit. No one wanted to give me a fair price on a kidney so I had to resort to selling lenses.
