robsteve Posted November 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here are a couple shots I got at a football game today. I used the DMR at 800iso. The new firmware seems to be a bit better at 800iso.

I was using the 400mm APO-Telyt at f4 and shooting at 800iso and 1/1000th.

stunsworth Posted November 15, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 15, 2007 Hi Robert, I can't remember, do you have any experience/opinions of the 280 f2.8 APO? There are a few at a UK dealer at arount £1200 and I'm tempted for use on an R10.
robsteve Posted November 16, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi Robert, I can't remember, do you have any experience/opinions of the 280 f2.8 APO? There are a few at a UK dealer at arount £1200 and I'm tempted for use on an R10. Steve: It is a great lens. I have had two or three of them. I now wish I still had one because the 400mm is a bit tight for hockey and the DMR 1.3 crop. Some had stiff focusing, so try before you buy. You should also make sure it has the trunk case and the 112mm screw in UV filter. It was meant to be on the lens all the time but sometimes is not with used lenses. The front element is soft and can scratch easily, so they included a filter. Regards, Robert
