I received my Q3 today and I'm putting it through its paces. I still need to play with subject detection autofocus but from what I've tried, the AF is miles ahead of the Q2. And I already used the tilt screen way more than I thought I would. The resolution is absurd.

Here are some shots I took at my summer home earlier today (obviously not full res as flickr downsizes the images)

These photos are great! And all of that is really great to hear! A few months ago, I was talking to my wife about the main 2 features that would instantly sell me on a new q: a port (for transfer/charge), and better auto-focus. So, I’m so happy to hear those 2 are noticeably better!

I deleted my order! No no, not another delivery  wait rage post :) The wait actual got me to think is this really what I want? Yes want but is there some for me I really want more if I am being honest? Well I do convert awfull lot to bw in post, I am the most happy when I made a good bw come down to photographing for photographing sake. So the time of reflecting on it the waitlist gave me I decided to cancel the Q3 order and spent the money on a Q2 monochrome which then will be my first Leica. It is in a delivery truck driving around in my home town as we speak so I should have it soon. Good luck to you all and hope Leica get your cameras delivered asapish!

Hello everyone,

I’m a first time new Leica owner and have just taken delivery of my Q3 (ordered from WEX UK on 25/05/2023 and received on 28/06/2023).

Having owned SLR Cameras and Digital Cameras from Canon, Nikon and Sony I decided to go ‘stealth’ with the Leica Q3.

I was lucky enough to buy the dedicated Wireless Handgrip and have added a Rope strap together with a Peak Design Hand Strap which I’ve attached to the Grip tripod socket. A Red Dot shutter extension button rounds things off. I’m just deciding wether to add the Thumb Grip but will see how I get on without it first.

I’m really looking forward to putting the Q3 through its paces and reading of helpful hints, tips and information from fellow Q3 owners.

Wishing all who placed orders a speedy resolve to final ownership.

Regards to all.

Welcome to the forum and to the world of Leica! Enjoy the Q3 - it appears to be better than my Q2 in every way.

Also expect to buy a Leica M in the next 2 years. You just will (I did) so best to start saving now…

Got my Q3 on Saturday!  I originally pre-ordered at B&H on launch day and placed another pre-order at Leica SOHO on 5/26 as a backup.  Leica SOHO came through first so I have canceled my B&H order.

Question for those that already have the Q3.  I am trying to make sure my camera is in full working order.  I set the camera to "Auto" mode and the aperture ring at "A".   The camera defaults to 1.7 aperture and I can't get it to automatically change apertures in different lighting situations.  Is this how it is supposed to function?

When you are in fully automatic program ("P") mode, the shutter speed dial is set to the "A" position and the aperture ring is also set to the "A" position.  The default "program" aperture is f/1.7, but you can change that default aperture setting by rotating the thumbwheel next to the shutter release.  See p. 111 in the Q3 manual.

No problem! Make sure your shipping and billing addresses, and payment method are saved and you're logged in a few minutes early. I refreshed like 15 times before it populated that it was available. (and have your card handy to retype the info)
