Wow that's quite the wait.

I'm now #2 on the list at LCE and i hope that means only a month or so but who knows

I was only on the online monthly draw list, that’s all. 
I suppose I was at the right place at the right time.

Ordered the grip direct from Leica as well (no choice, I’m 6ft 4 with abnormally large hands 😂), only took a couple of days to deliver to UK.

I just got word today that my Q3 has come in after only 4 weeks from originally expressing interest. I took the recommendation of looking at the list of all of the closest Leica retailers, calling them and asking to be put on the waiting list for the Q3. I'm shocked that I got an email this quickly so I'm guessing inventory is starting to catch up with some places.

Who Else has CANCELLED in Frustration and bought another Brand of In Stock Camera.

As a buyer from Canada who placed an order with B&H in August I am totally frustrated at ZERO communication Nothing is said. Especially when B&H required I pay in FULL , Not a deposit  FULL.  So What is going on?  Is the ethical? 

 

Is Leica Ethical?  I am now having real doubts about Leica's reliability. Why would any other manufacturer require deposits and payments? With no delivery date and NO communication.

Instead we regale ourselves with worry and anxiety. 48 pages of WTF? posts! Hardly good marketing.  

Is this now the " Leica Experience" ?????

Is Leica unable to meet demand? What of any repairs or warranty work? 

I will cancel and go with Hasselblad this week .

 

Be it known I have several M series , Film and Digital and 12 Leica M lenses. But I have reached a limit of being Played for a fool.

My Q3 is great.

Don't blame Leica for your choice of vendor. Leica doesn't require a full deposit, that is between you and B&H.

It is not Leica that ask for full payment, it’s B&H. I have placed an order in my local shop here in France, I’m on waiting list and I paid nothing, zero.

As said before, you should best direct your anger towards B&H. Why did you accept their terms instead of going with local dealers that require 0 deposit? I have said it in the past many times, B&H has repeatedly sent out bullshit predictions about Q3 delivery times  . They NEVER had a reliable information from Leica about delivery times and numbers. But yet they kept telling everyone they will get stock soon. Just to accept deposits. Why do they need that? You could have tried to source one locally in the meantime. And support local businesses for that matter. 

I think most people waiting for the Q3 do this because there is simply no alternative to the Q3, if you are looking for the package the Q3 offers. Hasselblad? Good luck with twice the weight at twice the price with a way slower  AF! It's like you've been waiting to take delivery of a sports car and because of the long wait you change your order to a Pick Up! This is not called alternative shopping, but panick attack.

My frustration is that Leica is fostering this pre order delay and if they had integrity they would say no orders until we ship and then only allow the authorized dealers to sell when the camera is in stock.

 

That is my anger with Leica. To encourage and allow such ludicrous waits and practices . Only the consumer is penalized. The dealer and the factory just relish and profit in our blind commitment to endure their arrogance.  In a commercial business there are penalties for late completion yet not with Leica products.  We are the fools to be used to satisfy their ridiculous and unkown timelines  No commitment to production expectations?That is irresponsible  business and that starts at the Leica Factory.

With every vendor taking deposits it is all the same  It is Leica at the production floor who makes us fools . No production plan. No communication of expectation of delivery. We are fools to tolerate this

Speak for yourself.  I ordered mine from a Leica store and was told 6 months.  I got mine in 4 months and am happy as a clam.  If you expect delivery in a week you will be disappointed.
