Anyone in the UK still waiting for a Q3 or have most people on the wait lists got theirs?

I spoke to a Leica dealer this weekend and they are getting around 2 a month with many people on the waiting list so it seems anyone who hasn't got one yet is going to be waiting at least 2-3 months.

Yes I figured you'd be this helpful. 👍

Your tone doesn't help, but how would anything I coulds say be helpful to you? I've been lucky enough to have jumped the queue, probably due to an error. That's undoubtedly going to make a lot of people angry, which is why I'm not comfortable naming names.

Probably the quickest option is to sign up to the Leica UK store wait list and see if you get lucky when they release the next batch. They have started doing it on a lottery basis. Otherwise, you'll be looking at October time with a high street store.

One UK dealer I spoke to last week had an order list of over 300 and was getting 7-8 cameras a month. Another had cleared his list as far as 26th May, the day after the camera was announced. Both dealers said they'd never seen anything like it.

It looks like orders placed now are going to face a very long wait.

Local shops are the way to go.  I reached out 3 weeks ago to my local shop in Southampton, PA and they called yesterday to say one was delivered.  I picked it up after work 👍  I'll be cancelling my Adorama order from the 25th.  The owner did say they were giving preferential treatment to existing customers.

It's pointless to try to get this camera. Especially if outside the US (Hong Kong). I've given up. Same as with the Q2 four years ago. Guess the brand is not meant to be for me.

Have you checked with hk rangefinder and /or All good friends camera?

Yes but the prices are way above US and EU prices (even though we have 0% VAT). I guess you know why and who the customer base is.

(also no availability either right now). Leica HK did fake pre-order lists. As soon as the launch happened they told me I was 'never on it'. Must have 'forgotten' me. (same as they did with the Q2 four years ago). Leica is super shady here.

On eBay in the UK - £8500! Any takers (or consider selling yours maybe?)

I’ve seen those listings… no one seems to be buying them at those prices. They haven’t moved. I think people are fed up with people who bought the camera just to make a profit and refuse to pay those crazy prices.  It’s one thing if someone bought it didn’t like it and it selling it for what they paid with a little extra for the fees.

I'm currently based in Hong Kong and Q3's seem to be fairly readily available here.

Rangefinder HK has stock on their website right now and when I enquired with most of the other well-regarded dealers (M&K / Fotopia / All Good Friends etc.) they said they can source within a few days.

It's true that the pricing here is higher than Europe/USA but not by much once you factor in VAT.

You are right. At about $1000 more than US or EUR1200 more than VAT-free from EU I just can't afford that right now for a personal purchase. But I do appreciate the info and I hope others will value it!

Ofcause they can find you one, you are paying 7,500usd for a 6,000usd product.

I don’t think 7,500 usd for a Q3 is a fair price so I will pass until the price is back to normal.
