Just contacted BH, they just shipped out 200 today and I’m not one of them but should be with the next batch in next two weeks. Order placed 5/25 10:10 am

Oh wild. I realized I misjudged my timing.(8:12 pt) Hopefully my order makes it on the next batch… That’s a lot more orders than I expected there to be.

Just contacted BH, and they said that the quantities are growing with every shipment. They also said that it is likely my order will be in the shipment after the next. (Unless they substantially up the quantity.) and that the shipments are coming in roughly every 2 weeks. So… maybe we’ll get our cameras sooner than a couple months.

Lol, I just contacted B&H chat and phone customer service and got the equivalent of shoulder shrugs as to when I can expect my order...   Thanks for the update!

Wow! 200? No way. I can’t believe that many people ordered this camera from just one retailer in the first 1 hour launch. It is 6K after all. The crazy this I never met anyone in real life who owns a Leica. If that 200 number is accurate does that mean that by end of day they sold 1,000?  I dunno. I have a feeling a lot of these are double orders from people who orders from multiple places.

The trick is to ask around the question. I asked: “if the next order is the same size as the last order, will mine be in it?”

Right? I’m shocked too. I know very few people that actually have these cameras around me. Maybe.. 3-4. I also wonder if the amount of orders drop off quickly after the first hour or so..

I'm glad to hear that things are beginning to move along for everyone - it's a great camera!

One question - is there a reason why people are ordering from the big retailers like B&H? I'm in the UK and while I use them (usually Wex) for my Sonys, I always order direct from Leica when it's a Leica product. I did that again for the Q3 and got mine a few days after launch.

Recently I wanted another battery and again the only place with stock of the new battery was Leica.

In the UK if you can score an item from Wex or Park etc. you will get it faster though as the stock is in the UK. Ordering from Leica means the item is shipped from Germany which usually takes a day more, and for those of you in North America it would take even more. But as they seem to have stock you'll probably still get it sooner.

For me… I was up at 6am coincidentally for launch, but couldn’t find a way to order it from anywhere until I got my order on bh. I would’ve much rather ordered from Leica proper. This is my first launch with a Leica product too. So, I was unsure how they do things. I guess to answer your question… it was the only guaranteed list I knew I could get on early in the morning on launch day.

Now I know I can call any Leica store in the country & get on their list…

Man, I was holding out hope that placing my order on the 30th didn’t put me THAT far back in line. Maybe orders dropped off after the first day and it’s not so bad. Or maybe I’m kidding myself.

I often bump into people using Leica cameras when I go to New York or Tokyo. Tourist places tend to attract people with cameras. :)

Even where I live, I met several fellow Leica users, and this is a state where every person with a camera seems to be into bird-watching :)

I have never met anyone using a Leica unless I was actually in a Leica store.

I travel around quite bit and I often hand my camera off to strangers so that I can be in a picture with my family.  (otherwise I come back from a vacation with 100's of family pictures and no proof that I came along). I often hear complements about the camera when someone handles it. Very rarely does anyone recognize that it is a Leica. Now I do have a piece of gaffers tape on the red dot. Even many professional photographers do not recognize the Leica. Never seen someone else with any Q.

I think the Sales Rep at B&H added a 0 to the numbers. I agree with the others, no way B&H alone is getting batches of 200 Q3s. This is a very niche product with the highest asking price of a fixed lens camera that only takes pictures, which is less than our iPhones are able to do.

Even the Leica Stores here in Germany are far  from those figures and they are the core of Leica in Wetzlar and Frankfurt.

I don’t know, there are a whole lot of dentists and software engineers in this country.

Just messaged Clifton Cameras UK to see if my list position has changed. I was number 6 a couple of weeks ago. Today I’m 5 …😏

I was hoping it’d be 1 or 2, but hey-ho. Inching closer slowly.

some stock coming tomorrow (UK)...

I got the email there too. Do you know if this is U.K. stock for all retailers, or just for Leica U.K. online store?

Don’t know, just received email from Leica.

How (not) handy - going on holiday on Wednesday early in the morning so no point for me to even try.

My 240, 28/2 Summicron and 2 Sigma Merrill cameras are with Aperture on commission sale and not all items sold yet so might just wait a bit.

Aye I get it. I’ll be working and I’m pretty sure I have a call around that time so will probably not get the chance.

I’ll probably just be patient and hope Clifton Cameras get some stock. Maybe I’ll luck through and get one from this batch, otherwise hopefully the next.
