The Q3 should complement my Sony A7RV (which with the right glass is not rendering clinical at all IMHO, 35mm 1.4 GM was an exception though beeing extremely clinical) What can I say, one of the boutiques gave me a great deal on a brand new M10R Silver ( i have always lusted after a silver Leica M), and because they ran out of the Summilux 50 they offered me instead the Summilux 35 for the same price, so I really couldn't pass the offer! Package arrived in 2 days so now I am a very happy camper playing with a M10R and the wonderful 35 Summilux (and trying hard to get sharp images at 1.4). And to further alleviate the (GAS) itch, I ordered one of the last 0,7m Summilux 50 from the other dealer where I am also on the waiting list for a Q3. So one dealer sold me a M10R set and the other a Summilux only because I call them to be put on the waiting for a Q3. I'm enjoying carrying my Q3 around with a Sony A1 (or A7R4) either with the 50/1.2GM or 85/1.4GM in a Peak Design 6L sling. I don't understand your comment about the Sonys not rendering clinically with the 'right glass', as you contradict the statement in the second half of the sentence The Q3 is incredibly sharp in the middle 2/3rds of the frame but when you get to the edges it is bettered by several of my Sony lenses. Even the 24-70/2.8GM2 gives it a run for the money. And some of the recent Sony lenses are clearly sharper than the Q3 for me, especially the 50/1.2GM and 35/1.4GM. I have yet to compare the Q3 to the 24/1.4GM as I haven't used the latter since getting the Q3. In any case, I think you'll be very happy pairing the Q3 with the A7R5 with the right glass! And with all due respect, I suspect Leica has an excellent handle on its marketing, and can project sales quite well. And that it knows from many, many prior releases about all the "buyers" who will drop off wait lists. Sorry maybe I did not express myself clear. The only glass I did not like how it rendered was the GM 35 1.4, for me it somehow lacked soul. The 50GM1. 4 on the other hand renders so beautifully that I am keen to compare it to the Summilux when it arrives next week. You are right, the 24-70/2.8GM2 is outstanding, I love mine . I also have a 35-150 Tamron, that, besides being a monster is a sensational lens. Leica is the latest. I got in the Miami Q3 queue at 9:20 am on day 1, and have yet to hear. If it comes soon, terrific. If not, who cares, as I have two other world class Leicas that are worth what many people take months to earn. And I can always do the unthinkable while I wait—-go outside and take some pictures!!
