Yesterday, walking around Den Haag, Netherlands, I found these young people making music on the street. These two worked better in black-and-white.

Lovely series of photos.  I like the B&W ones best.

Question.  When you take photos of performing artists in the street do you tip them if they are working for money?  If I were to take their photos in a way that they knew they were being photographed I would feel obligated to do so.  That is why I don't often take those kinds of photos.

I know this question isn't directed at me, but I've photographed a lot of street performers so I thought I'd put my two cents in. I do often tip the performers but have also on several occasions asked for contact information so I could send them images. At least one of them used my images on his website and CD inserts.

Not particular a great photo in terms of photography, but I like the message displayed in the window with the dark background.

Seen at the "Hidden Backyard" restaurant, Pakkred, Nonthaburi, Thailand.

These were just "kids" playing together. They did not even all know each other. There was no money involved; that was not why they were there. I sent some photos to the girl that promised to send it to the others.

I do not pay for photos in general. Also because I'm not that interested in that kind of photography in most of these cases. But it all depends on the situation.
