Found in a park - first one nearly unprocessed, second one reversed colors.

I was wondering the same with that image. I think the black parts are way too dark which gives an image I feel is not as good as it could be, technically. If you can somehow share the DNG, I would like to give it a try myself and see what it could be. If you do not mind me saying...

Thank you for the feedback and sorry for my late reply, but work had me this week! I put the DNG on WeTransfer for anyone interested in playing with the file! I am curious in the different approaches of post processing as I think this often gives new ideas and impulses to learn 😀

Thank you, David! I took this picture from the platform of Friedrichstraße station facing eastwards. The DNG imported into Lightroom looked this way:

I did a quick edit of the file you supplied. Just making it neat to show how much is in that file. I cut off the top because it doesn't add anything interesting to the image for me. I also made the image and the sides straight. All this in Lightroom.

Like it like this?

James,

Here is what I did. I dont think it is better than what you did --  just different. I like to see the detail of the city awakening.

More from our trip.  The town of Ferndale along the N. California coast is an interesting town.  The cemetery is beautiful in the spring, but this was fall, so decided B&W was better than the dry plants of fall.

The downtown has lots of old buildings in the Victorian style.  Here is the box office to the theater with a little Halloween decor.

Looking up, using the tilt screen so I did not get vertigo. Quite a few movie scenes have been shot in Ferndale.

A few mundane businesses for the locals, rather than the tourists.

Just down the road a bit is Bodega Bay and Bodega.  If you have seen the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds". this may be familiar to you.

Almost a full moon when we were in Yosemite, so not great for star photos, but we gave it the old college try anyway.  Did serve to light up the Three Brothers nicely, though.  Be sure to view it large to see the stars better.  Shot with small DNG setting.
