Photos gone from camera

Hi,

yesterday I was on an assignment and used my Leica M240.

All pictures that I took the last hour or so are completely gone. I reviewed some pictures on the screen of the camera while shooting, so I know they were saved. But today when transferring the images they are just missing.
I ran the SanDisk Rescue Pro. It rescued all images from another assignment a few days earlier. But none of these.

On the way home I had to stop the car abrubtly because of a fox crossing the street. Maybe this knocked the camera a bit. That is the only thing I can think of which could cause this. I´ve never had this issue before. I´ve used the camera over many years on hundreds of asssignments.

Can't imagine what happened. But check the memory size of the card. If part of the memory is gone, then I guess the case is hopeless. Otherwise, try different recovery software.

Unfortunately, memory cards can and do fail.

Yes, the space used on the memory card matches how many pictures are on it - unfortunately.

The memory card is a few years old (and has been used a lot - im various cameras). Maybe it simply failed and is time to be replaced.
