MyNameisChris Posted May 13, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 13, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, yesterday I was on an assignment and used my Leica M240. All pictures that I took the last hour or so are completely gone. I reviewed some pictures on the screen of the camera while shooting, so I know they were saved. But today when transferring the images they are just missing. I ran the SanDisk Rescue Pro. It rescued all images from another assignment a few days earlier. But none of these. On the way home I had to stop the car abrubtly because of a fox crossing the street. Maybe this knocked the camera a bit. That is the only thing I can think of which could cause this. I´ve never had this issue before. I´ve used the camera over many years on hundreds of asssignments. Thanks for all suggestions and help in advance! jaapv Posted May 13, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 13, 2023 Can't imagine what happened. But check the memory size of the card. If part of the memory is gone, then I guess the case is hopeless. Otherwise, try different recovery software. Unfortunately, memory cards can and do fail.
MyNameisChris Posted May 13, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted May 13, 2023 Yes, the space used on the memory card matches how many pictures are on it - unfortunately. The memory card is a few years old (and has been used a lot - im various cameras). Maybe it simply failed and is time to be replaced.
Anbaric Posted May 13, 2023 Share #4 Posted May 13, 2023 PhotoRec can sometimes work where other image recovery software fails: https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec https://www.ghacks.net/2015/04/20/how-to-use-photorec-gui-to-recover-lost-digital-photos-and-files/
