Advertisement Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Hi Pieter12, Take a look here Weather resistance with adapters. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LeicaR10 Posted May 11, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 11, 2023 Pieter12, The Leica adapters are very tight between the body and adapter/lens mount. The H lenses themselves are a different question and I cannot comment. I believe Helged used/es H lenses on the S camera and can PM him and ask. He lives in Norway and most likely knows the answer. I do know the S camera is not bear proof....writing from experience. r/ Mark

I would have to say yes, given that H lenses are less weather-resistant than S lenses. I can't find any claims of weather resistance in Hasselblad's literature. Add to that the fact that you now have two lens/body interfaces, and you have a compromise (compared to using an S lens).
helged Posted May 11, 2023 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2023 I have limited experience with Hasselblad lenses on Leica S, but I have the Leica S - Hasselblad C adapter. The adapter is fine, but it isn't water proof (no O-type of rubber ring like on eg SL-Lenses). So I would be somewhat careful using the the adapter in downpour rain. This in contrast to using S-lenses on S-bodies.
davidmknoble Posted May 13, 2023 Share #5 Posted May 13, 2023 Agreed on really bad weather. However, I think using it in the snow is probably not an issue. I have 2 hasselblad bodies and use the S/V adapter for CF lenses, but would not use them in an area with high winds and sand, but not worry about snow. Resistant yes, but not like the S highly resistent. I will lightly run water over the S system with a lens and not worry about it. Not the same with an adapter and other lenses.
